Sharp metal spikes stand in neat rows on a weathered wooden bench, their dark forms rendered as stark silhouettes against the glowing orange sky. The dry, cracked earth of the N'Djamena hillside stretches out behind the bench, dotted with sparse, brown scrub grass. A fine mist of turf spray and kicked-up grit hangs suspended in the air, catching the backlight to create a hazy, textured veil. The low sun casts long, sharp shadows that stretch across the bench, highlighting the rust on the metal and the rough grain of the wood. Dust particles swirl gently in the golden light, showing the stillness after a burst of kinetic energy. One spike rests slightly askew at the end of the row.
