Silhouetted Silos Against Stacked Thunderheads at Sunset

by Stefan Kramer

Dust particles shimmer in the low winter sun, catching the golden light before it dips below the horizon. Massive, stacked thunderheads rise in layers across the Shikoku sky, their undersides turning deep indigo while the peaks glow orange. Tall grain silos stand as stark black silhouettes, their cylindrical forms cut sharply against the bright backdrop. Wind whips through the scene, visible as faint, blurred streaks of dust moving diagonally across the frame. The ground appears dry and pale, against the dark industrial structures. A thin line of dust hangs low near the base of the silos, marking the edge where the wind touches the earth.
