Early winter sunlight spills across a weathered wooden bench where a pair of black spiked running shoes rests in a diagonal line. Tiny droplets of water rest on the metal spikes, catching the low-angle golden light that cuts through the humid, rain-washed air. The bench surface glistens with dampness, reflecting the fading sky above the nearby riverbank. Each spike pierces the wood grain, showing signs of intense use against the rough texture. Sweat marks stain the leather uppers, blending with the natural grain of the wood. The composition pulls attention along the sharp angle of the shoes toward the dark, moving water in the background, ending on the wet edge of a single spike tip.
