Harvested Potato Furrow Misty Tea Plantation Hong Kong

by Annette Reed

Freshly turned earth forms a dark, wet furrow where a potato has been cut open, revealing pale yellow flesh against the rich brown soil. Thick mist hangs low over the ridge, softening the edges of the surrounding tea bushes. The low sun skims the tops of the grain, casting long, faint shadows across the damp ground. Water droplets rest on the rough potato skin and the jagged dirt clods. In the background, rows of tea plants fade into the gray haze. The horizon line tilts slightly, showing the slope of the terrain. One cut surface of the tuber reflects the pale, diffused light of the setting sun.
