Dawn mist over Jamaican tea terraces

Cool morning shadows blanket the stepped slopes of a Jamaican tea plantation, where rows of harvested plants stretch into a gray haze. A thin layer of mist rests on the deep green leaves, softening the edges of the terraced ridges. Irrigation water glistens in the narrow channels between the rows, catching the first faint rays of dawn that rim the hilltops with pale silver light. The steep gradient of the land creates a rhythmic pattern of dark earth and wet foliage. Below the terraces, a harvested grain field lies flat and muted, against the vertical structure of the tea. Droplets of moisture rest on the broad leaves, reflecting the dim sky. at the edge is a single bead of water sliding down a leaf stem into the shadowed soil below.
