Cornfield Lane Fog Edge Tibet Terraces in among terraced rice paddies in Tibet

Cornfield Lane Fog Edge Tibet Terraces

by Laurie George

Pollen dust glitters in the bright late morning sun across a narrow lane cutting through a cornfield. The corn stalks stand tall and golden, their leaves rustling in the still air. Below, the darkened earth shows puddled ruts from recent rain, reflecting the sky. A thick, white fog fills the lower third of the view, stopping abruptly at a knife-sharp horizontal line. Above this impossible edge, the terraced rice paddies of Tibet rise clearly into the distance, their stone walls and green water against the suspended dust. The scene reveals layers of depth, from the wet mud in the foreground to the distant mountain ridges. The sharp boundary between the fog and the clear sky creates a distinct visual separation that defies natural weather patterns.
