Vietnamese Banana Plantation Rain Path at Dusk in along freshly irrigated rows in Vietnam

Vietnamese Banana Plantation Rain Path at Dusk

by Alana Hamilton

Wet earth forms a dark ribbon between rows of towering banana plants, their broad leaves dripping water in the early evening gloom. Backlight from the setting sun turns the foliage into deep silhouettes against a hazy, gray sky. A thin layer of fog rests on the ground, softening the edges of the receding plantation rows. Puddles on the path reflect the faint ambient light, creating glossy patches along the muddy trail. The heavy saturation of the wet season is visible in the dark green saturation of the fronds and the slick sheen on the soil. One leaf edge catches the fading glow, marking the boundary between the shadowed grove and the bright, misty horizon.
