Rich amber light floods the muddy paddock as a gyrocopter hovers low above weathered wooden rails. The cold season air hangs still, rendering visible white breath plumes around the rusted metal gates and fence posts. The aircraft's rotor blades blur into a translucent disc against the deepening sky. Below, wet earth reflects the fading gold, clumping around the hooves of distant cattle silhouetted near the horizon. The structure of the station shows peeling paint and sun-bleached timber, bearing the weight of years. Shadows stretch long across the uneven ground, anchoring the machine in its rural context. one drop of mud slides from the bottom of a gate hinge, dark against the dry wood.
