Copper-toned light washes over a row of heavy-duty manure scrapers parked in a tight, functional line within a Yunnan ranch corral. The metal blades rest flat against the packed earth, their surfaces dull and streaked with dried mud from the day's labor. Winter strips the surrounding vegetation, leaving only bare, dusty ground and weathered wooden posts supporting the fence. Shadows stretch long and sharp across the dirt, showing the repetitive, utilitarian nature of the equipment. Each scraper shows signs of rust and wear, reflecting the harsh conditions of agricultural work. The sky above is clear and pale, signaling the final moments before dusk settles over the valley. One bolt on the nearest frame catches the fading sun, glinting briefly against the matte grey metal.
