Rich amber sunset light floods the feedlot lane in Russia, illuminating a sturdy beef cattle pen constructed from weathered timber. Mud has climbed halfway up the vertical boards, marking the recent rain, while dust and steam hang suspended in the warm air above the enclosure. A sorting rail runs alongside the pen, equipped with heavy squeeze-gate chains that gleam faintly in the low sun. Small lot cards hang from the wooden posts, their text obscured by the golden haze.
