Concrete walls of a penstock valve house cling steeply to a snow-dusted slope above churning water in Mehrauli. The structure sits in deep shadow, defined only by sharp rim light tracing its angular edges against the darkening sky. Dry season leaves the surrounding earth bare and cracked, while a light drizzle wets the concrete surfaces, creating a slick, reflective sheen. Below, the turbulent water roars with white foam, contrasting the stillness of the stone. City lights begin to glow faintly in the distance, casting a soft, cool ambient glow that competes with the natural twilight. at the edge is a single rivulet of water sliding down the rough, gray face of the valve house, marking the boundary between the solid structure and the moving water.
