Green Robber Fly Eye on Moss at Sunset

Emerald and olive facets fill the frame in an extreme close-up of a robber fly's compound eye. The insect rests on dew-soaked green moss near Culiacán, its hexagonal lenses catching warm golden hour light. Bright reflections pool on nearby surfaces, highlighting moisture glistening on the plant matter. Fine dust particles float within shafts of light that cut across the dark indoor background. Late summer heat hangs heavy in the air, visible only through the sheen on the exoskeleton and the density of suspended dust. Each lens mirrors the fading sunlight, creating a shimmering mosaic of green and gold. A small water droplet rests on the edge of a moss frond, reflecting the warm glow of the approaching sunset.
