Rich amber sunlight spills across a holding pond where massive logs float in still, dark water. The setting sits within a machine shop near Kinshasa, where metallic haze hangs low above the concrete floor. Converging lines of rusted rail tracks and steel beams guide toward a distant vanishing point. The turn of seasons shows in the dust particles dancing in the slanted light and the slightly frayed edges of wooden crates stacked nearby. Rough textures of wet bark contrast with the smooth, oily sheen of the water. One log shifts slightly, its bark peeling in strips that catch the fading glow. The water reflects the orange sky, mirroring the industrial decay around the pond.
