Hard midday sunlight strikes the gray surface of the reservoir, creating a shimmering haze that lifts from the water near the concrete levee. A heavy steel boom line stretches taut across the frame, its cables anchored firmly to the embankment. Dark, waterlogged driftwood accumulates against the barrier, forming a chaotic pile of twisted branches and bark. The concrete path above the water glows white under the intense sun, casting sharp, black shadows beneath the metal structure. Rusty bolts and tensioned wires define the industrial scale of the intake system. One cable sags slightly between two anchor points, reflecting the bright sky.
