Glass Curtain Wall Tram Wires Canal Kuwait Twilight

by Ian Day

Deep indigo twilight reflects off a glass curtain wall standing beside a canal in Kuwait. Vertical tram wires cut across the frame, intersecting the smooth, water-beaded surfaces of the building. The canal water mirrors the structure below, doubling the grid of glass and steel in a perfect symmetrical arrangement. Late summer drizzle coats the cold metal and polished glass with tiny droplets that race down the vertical planes. Soft, diffuse light bounces off the rippling water to illuminate the raw textures of wet concrete and the dark wires. Rain streaks distort the reflection of the gray sky on the facade. The edge of the frame cuts cleanly through the repeating pattern of the architecture at the base of the image.
