Copper-toned light from the horizon wraps the wet street where a vintage San Francisco cable car rests. Rain streaks across the glass of the trolley's upper deck, blurring the view of the wooden interior. Frost coats the metal handrails and the granite sidewalk, creating a sharp contrast between the warm sky and the cold ground. The scene stretches wide, showing the steep, rain-slicked hill rising behind the vehicle. Water droplets rest on the brass fittings of the car, reflecting the fading light. One puddle near the wheels mirrors the glowing horizon line. The frost on the ground suggests a midsummer night that has turned unexpectedly cold.
