Cool blue twilight washes the monsoon floodwaters beneath a massive cable-stayed bridge span in Tamil Nadu. A rectangular levee pump house window emits a warm, amber glow that cuts through the humid air. The water surface reflects the bridge's steel cables and the pump's light, creating sharp, shimmering lines. Thick concrete pillars rise from the submerged ground, their surfaces dark and slick with rain. The bridge deck looms overhead, framing the structure below. Leading lines of the bridge cables draw the eye directly to the solitary illuminated square. A small ripple breaks the reflection near the base of the concrete support.
