Giant Flamingo Wades Past Delhi Pump Station
Steel-blue twilight light washes over a complex network of industrial pipes and valves beside a reservoir. Massive concrete pillars of a cable-stayed bridge loom overhead, their cables stretching into a sky filled with low-hanging clouds. In the midsummer heat, a flamingo the size of a giraffe stands knee-deep in the water, its long pink legs dwarfing the surrounding metal infrastructure. The bird's curved neck reaches toward the bridge span, creating a stark contrast between the surreal scale of the creature and the rigid geometry of the pumping station. Wet pavement reflects the dim ambient glow, while rust textures on the pipes catch the fading light. The massive bird's shadow stretches across the concrete floor, ending abruptly at a cluster of rusted bolts near the foreground.
