Gerenuk Browsing Thorns on Monsoon Ridge
Dappled sunlight falls through the canopy, illuminating the slender, reddish-brown flank of a gerenuk standing tall on its hind legs. The animal stretches its long neck toward a thorny acacia bush, its dark eyes fixed intently on the leaves. A thin layer of monsoon fog rests on the wind-scoured ridge near Raipur, softening the distant horizon while keeping the foreground sharp. The ground beneath the animal is dry and dusted with fine red earth, against the wet green of the foliage. Behind the subject, the sparse trees blur into the mist, showing the creature's solitary vigilance as it reaches for food. at the edge shows the sharp, curved thorns of the bush pressing against the soft fur of the gerenuk's muzzle.
