Frogfish Camouflaged on Sponge Belize Twilight

Cool indigo light washes over a volcanic reef overhang near Belize City as twilight settles into the wet season waters. A frogfish rests motionless against a textured orange sponge, its mottled skin blending seamlessly with the porous surface. Fine plankton haze softens the background, turning distant rock formations into muted silhouettes. The fish appears weightless, suspended in the calm blue hour. Small particles drift slowly around the creature, catching the faint ambient glow. A sharp edge of the sponge casts a dark shadow against the volcanic stone, at the base of the stillness in the deep water.
