Fractal Dried River Bed Patterns in Train Terminal

by Colin Blanchard

Cracked earth textures spread across a flat floor surface, forming intricate branching networks that mimic a dried river bed. The intricate lines divide the ground into geometric shards of dusty beige and faded ochre. Soft, diffused light from above illuminates the uneven terrain without casting harsh shadows, highlighting the dry, powdery consistency of the material. Fine dust particles float in the air, catching the flat noon glow as they drift across the scene. The pattern creates a visual ambiguity between a natural landscape and an industrial interior floor. Deep fissures run parallel to one another before splitting into smaller tributaries. One crack widens into a jagged gully near the foreground edge.
