Colored Glass Shards Cast Abstract Light Patterns

Honey-colored window light floods a tiled stair hall in late autumn, illuminating a cluster of colored glass shards arranged near a corner. The light fractures through the jagged edges, projecting sharp, overlapping geometric shapes onto the cream and grey ceramic tiles. Warm copper tones from the setting sun deepen the shadows between the steps, creating a layered effect of translucent amber, deep blue, and ruby red patches on the floor. Dust motes float in the beams, catching the golden glow before vanishing into the darker stairwell. The glass pieces rest on a flat stone ledge, their rough surfaces catching the fading daylight. A final strip of bright orange light stretches across the bottom step, ending abruptly at the dark edge of the railing.
