Fossil Prep Table Under Predawn Frost in Delhi Lab
Pale, diffused dawn light fills the fossil preparation laboratory in Karol Bagh, Delhi, illuminating a long wooden workbench before the day begins. Thin, crystalline frost coats the metal clamps and glass jars resting along the table edges, against the warm, scratched grain of the wood. Deep stains from years of chiseling mark the surface, while rows of steel instruments lie in neat alignment beside the tools. Converging lines of shelving and workbenches stretch toward the back of the room, where shadows deepen under the soft overcast glow. Small droplets of condensation rest on the rim of a ceramic bowl, catching the pale light and reflecting sharply against the surrounding wood grain.
