Footprints and Chalk Numbers on Foundry Floor

Soft, diffused midday light washes over a gray concrete loading dock floor near Incheon, revealing the gritty texture of industrial wear. A trail of deep, mud-stained boot prints cuts across the surface, leading toward stacks of heavy sand molds. White chalk numbers, scrawled in bold, utilitarian strokes, mark specific sections of the sand, standing out against the dull, earthy tones. The late autumn air leaves a crispness in the shadows, where fallen dust settles in the grooves of the footprints. Metal edges of nearby crates catch the light, while the sand molds rest in neat, heavy rows, their surfaces rough and unpolished. at the edge is a smudge of chalk dust clinging to the heel of a boot print, marking the transition from worker to stationary object.
