Fog Line at Abandoned Massachusetts Station
Steel-blue twilight washes over the skeletal remains of a railway station in rural Massachusetts. Thick, white fog fills the lower third of the frame, rising abruptly to a perfectly straight, knife-sharp horizontal edge that slices through the scene. Above this line, the sky is a clear, deep indigo, against the dense vapor below. Bare vines and dormant grapevines climb the crumbling brick pillars and wrap around rusted metal beams. The ground beneath the fog is invisible, while the station roof and upper walls stand starkly against the evening air. Fallen leaves and patches of frost rest on the wooden platforms just above the mist. The fog's upper boundary reflects the blue light, creating a luminous shelf that separates the earth from the sky. A rusted sign hangs from a bent beam, its paint peeling against the cold, clear air.
