Florida Wetland Egrets Dry Season Foothills
White egrets stand in shallow marsh water beneath the canopy of a ridge overlooking layered Florida foothills. The dry season leaves the vegetation brittle and golden-brown, against the pale gray of the wetland surface. Dappled sunlight falls through overhead leaves, creating shifting patches of bright illumination and deep shadow across the birds' feathers. The light strikes the water, highlighting ripples around the birds' legs while the background hills fade into a hazy blue distance. A fine layer of white snow covers the dry grasses in the immediate foreground, settling on the textured earth.
