Ferry Ramp Piling System Late Summer Afternoon

Rust-colored steel pilings rise vertically from the exposed riverbed, their surfaces etched with salt stains and weathering patterns. A concrete ferry ramp slopes downward into the shallow, muddy water, revealing the intricate network of support beams beneath. To the right, a metal ladder climbs the side of a towering cylindrical water tank, its rungs casting sharp, linear shadows across the corrugated metal skin. The late afternoon sun strikes the scene with high intensity, creating a stark contrast between the bright white highlights on the wet concrete and the deep, warm ochre of the drying mud. Dry grass patches rest on the embankment, turning brittle and gold in the heat. The water recedes far, exposing the heavy, industrial foundations that anchor the structure against the current.
