Thick mist blankets a grid of dead tree trunks rising from dark, still water in a Japanese orchard. Late afternoon mountain light cuts through the haze, revealing rows of irrigation lines and orchard blocks stretching into the distance. The water reflects the pale sky, creating a seamless surface where the dark, weathered bark of the dead trees breaks the monotony. Layers of depth recede as the mist softens the far edges of the field, blurring the boundary between water and land. The geometric precision of the irrigation channels contrasts with the organic chaos of the submerged trunks, all rendered in cool autumn tones of grey, brown, and muted green.
