Tea Pickers in Morning Light at Kingston Plantation in along freshly irrigated rows near Kingston

Tea Pickers in Morning Light at Kingston Plantation

by Colleen Craft

Soft overcast light washes over rows of lush green tea bushes, their leaves glistening with fresh irrigation water that shines between the stems. Several workers in practical clothing bend along the cultivated slopes, their hands moving rhythmically to pluck the young leaves. The earth appears dark and moist near the roots, against the vibrant green foliage. In the distance, the rolling terrain fades into a pale gray sky, showing the scale of the plantation. Water droplets rest on the undersides of leaves, catching the diffuse glow. at the edge is one drop of water sliding from a leaf tip onto the damp soil below.
