Water droplets rest on the sharp edges of crystal-encrusted gowns arranged on a dark surface under the cool glow of rehearsal lights. Late summer rain creates a wet sheen on the fabric, catching the blue hour light filtering through the drizzle. The tight framing isolates the intricate beadwork and the way moisture beads on the transparent stones. Reflected light from the wet floor bounces upward, illuminating the hemlines with a soft, silvery luster. Behind the garments, blurred vertical beams of artificial light cut through the damp air, against the deep indigo shadows of the Rawalpindi venue. one drop of water slides slowly down the side of a faceted crystal, leaving a clear, curved trail against the dark textile.
