Thick white mist rests on the air, softening the background into a pale gray wash while the foreground remains sharp. A glossy black crow perches atop a weathered wooden fence post, its feathers catching the warm, low-angle glow of the setting sun. Below, a glacial stream cuts through the cool season landscape, its surface reflecting the muted light. The wood grain of the post is rough and textured, against the smooth, dark plumage of the bird. Shallow depth of field blurs the distant trees into indistinct shapes, isolating the subject against the misty backdrop. one drop of condensation hangs from the tip of the fence rail, catching the golden light.
