Crosswalk Countdown Reflection in Rainwater

Cool blue twilight washes the asphalt near a Baltimore bus shelter, where steam rises from the glass enclosure against a heavy overcast sky. A wet street surface holds a dark pool of rainwater that mirrors the bright orange digital numbers of a pedestrian countdown timer. The reflection fractures slightly as droplets settle on the puddle's surface, distorting the red numerals into shimmering streaks. Bare oak branches frame the upper corner, their brown leaves clinging to thin twigs in late autumn chill. The metal poles of the shelter stand rigid and gray, against the glowing orange digits that hover above their inverted forms in the water. A faint reflection of a distant streetlamp stretches across the wet pavement, ending at the edge of a concrete curb where a single orange digit flickers in the puddle.
