Indigo twilight settles over the pavement outside a fluorescent-lit convenience store in Nice. Cool blue light washes the wet asphalt where wind funnels scattered trash and dry leaves along the curb. A car hood, polished to a mirror finish, occupies the foreground edge, showing the inverted glow of a digital crosswalk countdown timer. The red numerals of the timer appear distorted and liquid on the curved chrome surface, against the sharp white glow of the store signage behind. Rain slicks the metal, creating streaks of light that merge the reflection with the dark, wet reality of the street. The chrome surface catches the faint outline of the streetlamp above, blending artificial glow with the deepening evening shadows.
