Clownfish Through Seagrass at Dawn

Cool, diffused dawn light falls through the water, casting a blue-grey tone over a seagrass meadow along the coral wall near Cairns. An orange clownfish swims forward, its white stripes and black outlines sharp against the swaying green blades. The view comes from behind the fish, showing the curve of its body and the gentle motion of its fins. Above, broken surface ripples distort the light into shifting patterns that fall across the grass. A soft plankton haze blurs the distance, turning the deep blue water into a pale, milky gradient. The water remains still in the wet season's quiet hours. One ray of light catches the edge of a seagrass leaf, highlighting its translucent texture.
