A vibrant green ceramic dragon roof tile rests on rough bamboo scaffolding near a muddy access road in Hpa-An. The noon sun casts harsh, flat light that highlights the glossy glaze and weathered cracks along the dragon's spine. Thick mud rests on the bamboo poles and the worker's boots nearby, evidence of recent rain in the dry season air. The tile's intricate scales catch the bright glare, against the dull, wet earth below. A small puddle reflects the pale sky beside the scaffolding base. The glaze shows a chip near the tail fin where the ceramic meets the rough wood.
