Catalonian Jellyfish Underwater Afternoon Sunlight in in Catalonia

Catalonian Jellyfish Underwater Afternoon Sunlight

by Hadley Peterson

Translucent bell shapes cluster in the deep blue water, their delicate membranes glowing where late morning sunlight penetrates from above. The water carries a soft plankton haze that blurs the background into a gradient of teal and azure. Sunlight fractures through the surface, casting shifting beams of white and gold that illuminate the drifting organisms from below. The low angle view emphasizes the upward reach of the jellyfish against the open sea. Fine tentacles trail downward, catching the reflected light in a shimmering dance. A faint ripple pattern on the water surface distorts the light falling across the nearest translucent dome.
