Bush Lake Floatplane Landing in Winter Fog

Bright open daylight illuminates a rugged floatplane touching down on a remote lake near Kirkuk. The aircraft cuts through the water, sending a sharp spray of white against the dark, still surface. Pools of ground fog rest on the low banks, drifting between sparse, leafless shrubs that line the shore. The sky above is a pale, washed-out blue, against the muted browns of the winter earth. The plane's pontoons displace the water, creating concentric ripples that spread outward. A thin layer of mist softens the distant shoreline, while the metallic hull of the aircraft reflects the harsh afternoon sun. at the edge shows the frothy wake trailing behind the pontoons as they slow to a stop.
