Binondo Mangrove Channel in Morning Shadow
Pale morning light skims the surface of a narrow mangrove channel near Binondo, Manila, where tangled prop roots rise from dark, waterlogged soil. The scene remains mostly in deep shadow, with a sharp rim of cool light tracing the edges of gnarled wood and wet leaves. Humid air hangs heavy, visible as a soft haze between the dense greenery. Pools of still water reflect the pale sky, broken only by the rhythmic vertical lines of the roots. The ground is slick with recent monsoon rain, glistening under the faint dawn glow. One fallen leaf rests on a submerged root tip, its edge catching the last hint of light before the shadow swallows it whole.
