Bat Colony Emerging from Cave at Twilight

Thick mist rests on the air above a glacial stream near Ranchi as a dense swarm of bats streams from a dark cave mouth. Deep shadows engulf the foreground while a sharp rim of twilight light outlines the trailing edges of the flying mammals against the gray sky. Rain-slicked rocks glisten with moisture, reflecting the faint ambient glow. The bats appear as blurred streaks of dark fur, their wings folding and extending in rapid succession. Shallow depth of field blurs the rushing water in the lower frame, keeping the focus on the chaotic yet rhythmic exit of the colony. The scene holds a quiet, predatory stillness before the night hunt begins. One wet stone in the immediate foreground reflects the faint silver of the mist.
