Cool blue twilight washes over a stone ledge in San Rafael, where a single feather rests on the glassy surface of a small pond. Condensation beads along the nearby glass pane, catching the fading light with sharp clarity. The water holds the feather perfectly still, reflecting the dim sky above without a ripple. Rough gray stone surrounds the water, against the delicate, fibrous texture of the plume. Shadows deepen in the corners of the ledge, showing the quiet stillness of early summer evening. A faint reflection of the glass condensation streaks across the water's edge, anchoring the feather in place.
