Abandoned Lighthouse Lens Cracked Vine Choked

by Lorene Bradley

Hard coastal glare illuminates a crumbling lighthouse corridor where thick green vines strangle the stone walls. The ancient lantern room houses a massive glass lens, its surface clouded with grime and fractured by deep cracks that slice through the panes. Sunlight strikes the wet, moss-slicked floor, creating sharp, high-contrast reflections against the shadowed archway. Low-hanging gray clouds press down on the horizon, diffusing the bright sky while the vines drape heavily over the iron railing. The leading lines of the corridor converge toward the broken glass, showing the structure's decay. One jagged shard of lens rests on the damp stone floor near the base of the lantern housing.
