Winter Falconer Portrait in Karabuk

A weathered man stands in Karabük under the harsh, flat glare of noon. Dappled light falls through bare winter branches, painting shifting patches of brightness across his face and the heavy leather of his glove. The hawk perched on his arm casts a sharp, dark shadow that cuts directly across his forehead and eyes, obscuring part of his expression. The sky above is a perfectly clear, pale blue, devoid of clouds. His woolen coat shows signs of wear, its texture rough against the smooth feathers of the bird. The composition places the falconer off-center, leaving negative space where the shadow falls. One feather on his shoulder catches the light, highlighting the fine down against the dark fabric.
