Marigold Offerings at Keelung Temple Dawn

Heavy monsoon mist blankets a stone temple courtyard in Keelung as the first light of dawn breaks through an overcast sky. Rows of brass bowls sit on wet stone slabs, their dull metallic surfaces reflecting the gray air. Vibrant orange marigold petals pile high in the centers of the bowls, their saturated color standing out against the muted gray and brown tones of the damp surroundings. Water droplets rest on the flower stems and bead along the curved rims of the brass. From behind the arrangement, the wet pavement stretches forward, glistening under the diffused morning glow. The brass edges catch faint highlights where the low sun begins to pierce the cloud layer. One petal rests on the wet stone near the front bowl's base.
