A plate of pljeskavica and kajmak rests on a rough wooden table in a roadside diner. Soft tungsten light glows from above, casting warm amber tones across the greasy meat and creamy white topping. The ceiling above is not plaster but a still, dark pool of water. The entire meal and table surface reflect perfectly upside down in this liquid expanse, creating a seamless inversion where the food appears to float in the water. Small ripples disturb the reflection slightly, bending the light into shifting patterns. The wood grain of the table continues into the water's surface, merging the solid and the liquid. A faint reflection of a hanging bulb distorts in the upper right corner of the water ceiling.
