Twisted Bonsai Pine in Deep Shadow Rim Light
Late night darkness swallows the foreground near Centro, Santiago, leaving a solitary bonsai pine defined by a sharp rim of pale light. The tree trunk twists violently, evidence of decades of pruning, its dark bark rough and textured against the void. Needles cluster tightly, catching the edge of the light while the interior remains in deep shadow. Wind whips the fine branches, blurring their tips slightly as they move. The ground below is barely visible, a dark expanse of earth. One branch tip glows faintly white against the black background, marking the limit of the night.
