Timber Truss Shadowed by Plane Tree Blue Hour

Deep indigo twilight fills the interior of the restored Anchorage train terminal, where a heavy timber roof truss dominates the left third of the view. The massive wood grain catches a thin, cool rim light along its upper edge, separating the dark structural form from the surrounding gloom. Through the high arched windows, the distinct dappled shadows of plane tree branches stretch across the ceiling, their leafy patterns sharp against the soot-darkened beams. Humid air hangs visibly as a slight haze in the light, softening the contrast between the rough-hewn timber and the smooth metal of the terminal's supporting columns. The floor reflects a faint, cool sheen from recent rain outside, mirroring the vertical lines of the truss. one drop of water rests on the bottom corner of the timber beam, ready to fall.
