Flat noon light bleaches the vibrant blue facade of a small tailor shop in Quito, where a wooden folding ruler rests against a stack of colorful woven textiles. A young apprentice, wearing a faded white t-shirt, is bent over a heavy industrial sewing machine, his hands guiding a thick seam of denim with focused precision. Beside the machine, a pair of scissors and a spool of bright red thread sit on the worn counter, while a half-finished garment hangs from a hook nearby.
