Symmetrical Canal Aqueduct Across Jamaican Dam in along a dam spillway in Jamaica

Symmetrical Canal Aqueduct Across Jamaican Dam

by Juanita McConnell

Bright afternoon light cuts sharply across a concrete canal aqueduct stretching horizontally over arid terrain. The structure dominates the frame with perfect symmetry, its gray walls rising vertically on either side of a narrow, flowing water channel. Below, dry earth shows cracked textures and sparse, brown vegetation typical of the cool season. Dramatic white and gray clouds gather overhead, casting deep shadows that accentuate the engineering lines of the spillway. The water reflects the sky, creating a mirror surface within the rigid geometry. A faint plume of mist rises where the water meets the spillway edge, against the dry, dusty ground surrounding the infrastructure.
