Tropical bright light floods a flat farmland landscape where a grid of white wind turbines stands in perfect symmetry. Below the rotating blades, a rectangular canal lock chamber cuts through the earth in Antananarivo, its concrete walls reflecting the clearing sky. The dry season leaves the surrounding fields in shades of parched yellow and brown, against the cool gray of the water. After a storm, the air appears washed clean, highlighting the sharp geometric lines of the infrastructure. Heavy concrete barriers line the lock edges, emphasizing civic-scale austerity. One shadow from a turbine blade falls precisely across the wet surface of the canal water.
