Surreal Staircase Amidst Succulents and Ferns

Late autumn light falls through a heavy, gray overcast sky, casting a diffuse glow over a fern-lined forest floor near Adelaide. Rows of terracotta pots containing spiky succulents sit in neat formation on the damp earth. From a central landing nestled among the pots, a staircase splits into two directions simultaneously: one flight ascends into the gray clouds, while the other descends into the leaf litter below.
